Sale Season Info!

It's that time again - SALE SEASON! You're probably wondering when major sales start, well, in a few days actually. Expect prices to be in the 40% off range. Here's the rundown by store:

Barney's: Tuesday May 28th.

Saks: Pre-sale has begun, however, have not received an actual date yet. Presumably next week.

Neiman Marcus: Thursday May 30th.

Off Topic: Cool Site of the Month - Movies in Color

Ever notice that all movies have a certain color theme? The Matrix for example, was heavily saturated in greens, whereas Prometheus had a decidedly gray/blue tone. One of the coolest sites I've come across is Movies in Color. The author chronicles a variety of films from various decades - take a look, you'll be surprised to see how large a role color plays in various movies.

Shoe of the Week: EMILIO PUCCI Dragon Wedges

I saw someone post about these gorgeous Emilio Pucci Dragon Wedges on the Purse Forum - needless to say, I had to blog about these amazing works of art! At 150mm and what seems to be hand-carved wedges made of resin, these are truly one of the most unique pairs of shoes I've ever come across. Available at Luisviaroma.com - the price is a bit steep, $4928.00, but hey, you never know if these will go on sale or not. Fingers crossed!

Fall 2013 Shoe Focus: Christian Louboutin Flats

Love them or hate them, flats are here to stay (forever, I hope!) and are more or less ubiquitous - they're comfortable, everyday alternatives to sneakers, and can add instant style value to any outfit, casual or otherwise. Below, a couple of looks from Christian Louboutin Fall 2013. Still very much in for the season: lace-up shoes with a masculine edge. And thankfully, the Pigalle flats makes another appearance, this time with some added touches.

Fall 2013 Shoe Focus: Valentino

I'm one of the biggest fans of Valentino clothing and couture - I'm always anticipating and eagerly awaiting what the fashion house will do next. And as always, I adored the Fall/Winter collection, but one thing that intrigued (or confused) me were the shoes. I love the t-strap look on the blue one, but the flesh-colored leather/material underneath it? What do you all think?

Kanye West and Giuseppe Zanotti?

Above, a by-product of the collaboration between GZ and Kanyew. I for one love Giuseppe Zanotti, and adore his collaborations for Balmain and Thakoon - but Kanye West? The shoe is very elegant and pretty, yet I can't help but wonder if Kim K. had something to do with it? You can purchase at the Giuseppe Zanotti online store for $1,625 (a bit steep if you ask me).
